Payments, Consultations & Prescription ApprovalUpdated 6 hours ago
At Dense Hair Experts, we believe in full transparency about how your order is processed — from the moment you place it, to when your prescription is approved and dispatched. This article explains how we manage payments, clinical consultations, prescription decisions, and refunds, in line with UK regulations and international compliance standards.
Prescription Consultations: What You're Paying For
When you place an order with us, you are requesting a regulated clinical consultation and the potential issuance of a prescription for a treatment.
- You are not paying for a guaranteed prescription.
- Our clinicians will only prescribe if it is medically appropriate.
At present, we do not charge separately for clinical consultations. However, a qualified UK prescriber still carefully reviews each request using strict medical and regulatory criteria. This ensures your safety remains our top priority.
Important: The price you see at checkout includes the full treatment cost if approved — but currently excludes any consultation fee, as consultations are offered at no extra charge.
When and How Payment Is Taken
Payment is collected at the time you confirm your order on our website.
This is done securely and includes any prescription-only medicines (POMs) or pharmacy medicines (P-meds) that are part of your order.
- There is no separate “consultation fee” charged at this stage.
- You are not charged twice — the price shown includes everything for approved treatments.
What If My Prescription Is Not Approved?
If our prescriber determines that you are not eligible for the requested treatment or requires additional information that you choose not to provide, then:
You will receive a full refund.
To date, this has been our consistent policy. We do not penalise patients financially if a prescription is not issued after proper clinical review.
Why This Process Exists
Our payment and consultation model aligns with UK law, UK Blue Guide and best practices:
- Prescriptions must only be issued if clinically appropriate.
- Patients must understand that a consultation may or may not result in a prescription.
- Payment must be taken transparently and fairly, with refunds issued when appropriate.
